Buying luxury watches in Surrey should mean seeing the piece, not bidding on a photograph. Alexander Windsor is an independent boutique in Dorking. We sell pre-owned Rolex and other Swiss watches that we have bought, inspected and priced ourselves. We are not an authorised Rolex retailer, and we do not keep a fantasy catalogue of watches we do not hold.

What “luxury” means on this counter

The word gets used for almost anything with a logo. Here it means recognised Swiss watches in a condition we are prepared to guarantee: Rolex first, then Omega, Cartier, Breitling and others when the piece is authentic and fit to retail. A tired fashion watch is not a luxury watch, and we will not dress it up as one.

Independent means the stock is ours. It is not allocated by a brand, and we cannot order you a new Daytona from Rolex. What we can do is put a pre-owned sports model or a Datejust on the table in Dorking and talk about that watch: year, condition, box and papers, what has been replaced, and whether it wears properly on your wrist.

Surrey, not a warehouse

Clients come from Dorking, Reigate, Leatherhead, Guildford, Horsham and further across the county. The point of a Surrey boutique is that you can drive here in a normal afternoon, park, and leave with a decision. That is harder if the watch is in another country or sitting behind a “request a viewing” form that never quite becomes an appointment.

If nothing listed is right, say what you want. Sourcing is ordinary work for us. It is not instant, and we will not invent a piece to close the conversation.

Authentication, warranty and viewing

Every watch we sell is inspected before it is offered. Serial and reference, the movement, dial and hands, bezel, bracelet and clasp, and the parts that commonly get swapped, are the point of that work. You get our certificate of authenticity, as the selling shop, not a factory document. The method is on the authenticity page.

Pre-owned pieces carry a 12-month mechanical warranty covering the movement, with 14-day returns provided the watch comes back as it left. That is not a Rolex worldwide guarantee. It is a shop guarantee you can walk back into. Viewing is Monday to Friday, 11am to 4pm, or Saturday by appointment. Insured UK delivery is available if you have already seen the watch, or you are buying at a distance after a proper conversation.

Selling or trading what you already wear

A lot of luxury-watch conversations in Surrey are two-sided. Someone wants the next piece and already owns one. We buy watches for instant purchase or consignment, and we part-exchange towards stock. Bring the watch, box and papers if you have them, and photo ID. There is no fee for a valuation and no obligation to accept.
