Datejust references we carry

These are the Datejust references that pass through the shop most. Case size, metal, bezel and dial are stated on every listing.

  • 16233 — 36mm, steel and 18ct yellow gold (two-tone), with a fluted gold bezel, usually on a Jubilee bracelet. Dials vary from factory Roman numerals to diamond-set.
  • 16234 — 36mm, stainless steel with an 18ct white gold fluted bezel. A quieter look than two-tone.
  • 16013 — 36mm, steel and 18ct yellow gold: the earlier two-tone reference that the 16233 replaced.
  • 68273 — Datejust 31: the 31mm mid-size, in steel and 18ct yellow gold.
  • 69173 and 69174 — Lady-Datejust, 26mm. The 69173 is steel and 18ct yellow gold; the 69174 is steel with a white gold fluted bezel.

16233 or 16234: what is the difference?

Both are 36mm Datejusts with a fluted bezel and the same calibre 3135 automatic movement. The difference is the metal. The 16233 is two-tone: steel with 18ct yellow gold on the bezel, crown and bracelet. The 16234 is steel with an 18ct white gold bezel, so it reads as an all-steel watch. If you want gold you can see, choose the 16233; if you want something more understated, the 16234.

Factory or aftermarket dial and bezel

Some older Datejusts have had their dial or bezel replaced with non-Rolex (aftermarket) parts, often diamond-set. Our listings say which: check the Dial and Bezel lines in the specifications, where aftermarket parts are named as such. That lets you compare a factory piece with an aftermarket one before you visit.

Buying a pre-owned Datejust: box, papers and warranty

Every pre-owned Rolex we sell has been bought, checked and photographed by us in Dorking. Each listing states the reference, year, condition and whether the box and papers are included — look for Box & papers or No papers on the card and in the specifications. A full set is the watch with its original box and papers; a watch without papers can still be a genuine, well-kept piece, and the listing is priced as it is.

Every watch comes with our certificate of authenticity and a 12-month mechanical warranty within the price. If you cannot get to the shop, we offer WhatsApp or FaceTime video viewings, free fully insured UK delivery and a 14-day returns policy. Read how we check every piece on our authenticity page, or our guide to buying a pre-owned Rolex in Surrey.

Part exchange or sell a Datejust

You can part-exchange a watch towards anything in stock, or sell your Rolex outright — bring it to the boutique for a free, no-obligation valuation or send photos first and we reply within 24 hours. We buy with or without box and papers. If the reference, dial or size you want is not listed, use watch sourcing and we will look for it. We also service and repair Rolex watches in Dorking.
